2013년의 여정, 꿈을 품었던 자리 : 아라뱃길, 시천문화광장, 검암동, 백석동 일대 

지난 개인전 「여정, 당신이 닿을 꿈」이 꿈을 향해 걸어온 현재의 이야기를 담았다면, 이번 전시는 그 여정이 시작되었던 순간을 되돌아본다.
2013년 고등학생이었던 나는 사진작가라는 꿈을 품고 카메라를 들고 다녔다. 사진이 좋다는 마음 하나로 재학중이던 학교 근처 검암동과 백석동, 아라뱃길의 수많은 풍경과 일상을 기록하며 꿈을 향한 시간을 쌓아갔다. 십수 년이 흐른 지금, 당시의 사진들을 다시 마주하며 아라뱃길이 있는 검암동과 백석동의 많은 풍경이 시간과 함께 달라졌음을 발견한다. 사라진 장소도, 변해버린 장소도 있지만 사진 속에 담긴 시선과 설렘만큼은 여전히 선명하게 남아 있다.
이번 전시는 2013년의 기록을 통해, 꿈을 품었던 한 소년의 열정과 시간의 흔적들을 돌아보며, 꿈에 닿기 전부터 이미 시작되었던 여정의 의미를 이야기하고자 한다. 13년 전의 기록들은 결국 오늘의 나를 만든 시작점이었으며, 그 여정은 지금도 계속되고 있다.

Journey of 2013, The Place Where Dreams Dwelt : Ara Waterway, Sicheon Cultural Square, Geomam-dong, and Baekseok-dong

If my last solo exhibition, Journey, The Dream You Will Reach, captured the present story of walking toward a dream, this exhibition looks back at the very moment that journey began. In 2013, as a high school student, I carried a camera with me, harboring the dream of becoming a photographer. Driven solely by my pure love for photography, I accumulated moments toward that dream by documenting the countless landscapes and daily routines of Geomam-dong, Baekseok-dong, and the Ara Waterway near the school I was attending. Now, more than a decade later, looking back at those photographs, I discover that many landscapes of Geomam-dong and Baekseok-dong along the Ara Waterway have changed with time. Some places have vanished, and others have transformed, but the gaze and the fluttering excitement captured within the photographs remain as vivid as ever.
Through the records of 2013, this exhibition looks back at the passion and the traces of time of a young boy who held a dream, seeking to speak of the meaning of a journey that had already begun even before reaching that dream. Ultimately, the records from 13 years ago were the starting point that shaped who I am today, and that journey continues even now.
