사라진 마을

사라지는 마을을 걷는 동안 나는 늘 두 개의 시간을 동시에 마주한다.  이미 떠나버린 기억과 아직 사라지는 중인 현재의 광경이 서로 겹쳐진다. 폐허의 틈에서 보이는 고층 건물과 한때 누군가의 숨결로 채워졌던 방의 잔해는 극적인 대비를 이루며 묵묵히 말을 건다. 아이들의 그림, 오래된 간판, 문턱에 남은 이름들은 모두 사라졌지만 끝내 지워지지 않은 존재의 증언처럼 다가온다.
나는 이 장소들을 단순한 기록의 대상으로 보지 않는다. 여기에는 누군가의 삶이 잠들어 있고, 흔적은 흉터처럼 남아 우리에게 질문을 던진다. 사진 속 장면은 객관적인 풍경이 아니라, 나의 기억과 정서가 개입된 하나의 서사로 완성된다.  이 작업은 사라진 것들의 부재를 애도하는 동시에 그 자리에 남은 존재의 가치를 다시 바라보려는 시도이다. 나는 도시의 폐허를 천천히 걸으며, 잊힌 마을이 품고 있는 이야기를 다시 불러낸다. 그리고 그 기억의 길 위에서, 당신 또한 각자의 경험과 감정으로 이 풍경을 완성해주기를 바란다.

The Vanishing Village

While walking through a vanishing village, I constantly confront two layers of time simultaneously. The memory of what has already departed and the current sight of what is still vanishing overlap with one another. The high-rise buildings visible through the cracks of ruins contrast dramatically with the remnants of a room once filled with someone’s breath, silently speaking to me. Children’s drawings, old signs, and the names left behind on thresholds—though everything else is gone—approach me like an unerasable testimony of existence.

I do not view these places as mere subjects for documentation. Someone’s life lies dormant here, and the traces remain like scars, posing questions to us. The scenes in the photographs are not objective landscapes; they are completed as a narrative interwoven with my own memory and emotion.

This work is an attempt to mourn the absence of what has vanished while re-examining the value of the existence that still remains. Walking slowly through the ruins of the city, I summon back the stories held within the forgotten village. And upon this path of memory, I hope that you, too, will complete this landscape through your own experiences and emotions.
